This is not one of my favorite plots – using genius as an excuse for bad behavior, but I did enjoy this movie because of the cast and it’s chemistry. The realism comes from Ed Harris (Ben) not having an epiphany and completely changing. Elizabeth Olsen (Zoe) is charming and Jason Sudeikis (Matt) is convincing as the son who keeps alive that sliver of hope but at the same time is tired of being made a fool. It was fascinating to learn about this pilgrimage that many photographers made to Parsons, Kansas.
Set during the final days of the admired photo development system known as Kodachrome, a father and son hit the road in order to reach the Kansas photo lab before it closes its doors for good.
