Buffalo Chicken Wings

In Three Identical Strangers, Bobby, Eddie and David seemed to be their happiest when they were all involved in their restaurant, Triplets Old New York Steakhouse.  It appeared to be a party every night, where they could entertain their friends and strangers alike.   It did look as if it was a pace that would be hard to maintain over the long haul.  One of their dishes, Triplet’s Famous Hot & Spicy Roumanian Chicken Wings was considered to be identical twins to Buffalo wings.  Here is our recipe for Buffalo wings you can make at home.

 1 qt Vegetable Oil
24 Chicken Wings, tips removed, wings cut in half at joint
cup Hot Pepper Sauce, we used Frank's
 ½ cup Unsalted Butter, cold
 1 ½ tbsp White Vinegar
 ¼ tsp Worcestershire Sauce
 ¼ tsp Cayenne Pepper
  tsp Garlic Powder

Heat the oil in a large skillet or deep fryer to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Deep fry chicken wings in oil until done, about 10 minutes. Remove chicken from skillet or deep fryer and drain on paper towels.

Sauce
2

Combine the hot sauce, butter, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and salt in a pot and place over medium heat. Bring to a simmer while stirring with a whisk. As soon as the liquid begins to bubble on the sides of the pot, remove from heat, stir with the whisk, and set aside for use.

3

Add cooked chicken to sauce and stir over low heat to coat. The longer the wings simmer in the sauce, the hotter they will be. Serve warm.
