Bad Times at the El Royale

Bad Times at the El Royale - The GBY

If you are a Quentin Tarantino fan, Bad Times at the El Royale is for you!  Strange but interesting characters get together on an inclemently unfriendly night at a deserted location.  This is followed by equally strange behavior and a lot of blood.  Several of the characters are leading a double life.  Sound familiar?  The confused priest, Daniel Flynn (Jeff Bridges), Laramie Seymour Sullivan (Jon Hamm),the overly effusive vacuum salesman from Biloxi, Darlene Sweet (Cynthia Erivo) a singer trying to save some money and Emily Summerspring (Dakota Johnson),a snarling hippy all arrive at the El Royale, a hotel that straddles the California/Nevade state line.  The El Royale is also a hotel that has seen much better times.  They are eventually greeted by a nervous and slightly disoriented Miles Miller (Lewis Pullman, Bill Pullman’s son).  Then the fun begins.  Chris Hemsworth shows up in a the Mansonesque role of Billy Lee.

The perfect dish for this movie is cherry pie.  That is just too easy for a recipe post.  My secret to cherry pie is to spread room temperature butter over the crust and sprinkle with sugar.  Do this right before you pop it in the oven.  Enjoy!
