Dolemite Is My Name
We started Day 4 with Sunday Brunch at Cora’s for a delicious breakfast. Then we were off to the Princess of Wales for a screening of My Name is Dolemite. The movie stars Eddie Murphy as 70’s Blaxploitation legend Rudy Ray Moore. According to critics, the film is fairly factual as to Moore rise to fame and the making of his first feature film. Murphy’s performance was moving as the man who always wanted more.

Heroic Losers
We practically flew to the Elgin theater for the Argentinian film, La Odisea de Los Giles (Heroic Losers). It is a cute movie finding some humor in Argentina’s 2001 Corralito. Based on the book from Eduardo Sacheri “The Night of the Heroic Losers”, this was a very enjoyable film.

Hustlers
Off to Ryerson University for the much anticipated Hustlers. Jennifer Lopez made an appearance at the introduction of the film, she was adorable. The movie is based on a New York Magazine article that went viral. A film about exploitation, but I’m not really sure who was exploiting whom. There was more to this story than we expected. J Lo’s pole dancing was very impressive.
