Day 7 2019 TIFF started with a stop at Pusateri’s for snacks and Denise’s favorite Caramel Apple Pie. We walked over to the Elgin for a screening of Judy. An interesting story about a little-known time in Judy Garland’s life. The pace was a little slow, but it was nice to hear her music again.

Motherless in Brooklyn
Eating our snacks on the way to the Princess of Wales theater, we raced to our next film. I have been stalking Motherless Brooklyn for at least a year. I am a big fan of Edward Norton, so I was thrilled when he spoke before the movie. I really enjoyed this film. It had an interesting story line with the right amount of drama and humor. It kept a good pace with both visceral excitement and poignant soulfulness. Mr. Norton’s performance was impressive.

TIFF 2019 Press Conference for “Motherless in Brooklyn”
We had a break, so we did some shopping at Eaton Center. Then we met Karl and Tony at La Bettola di Terroni for another good meal.
Our final movie of the day was The Aeronauts at the Elgin theater. This is a very well-done period piece with some very exciting scenes. It is nice to see Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones together again on the screen. This movie is based on a true story with a few significant changes.
