Day 9 2019 TIFF started with a screening of The Cave at the TIFF Lightbox. A powerful documentary about a female pediatrician struggling to keep her patients alive during the Syrian Civil War. This film left us with quite a few questions.

Beneath the Suburban Blue Skies
We stayed at TIFF for our next film, Edward Burns latest film, Beneath the Blue Suburban Skies. Shot in black & white, this is a story about what can happen when your children don’t leave home. Burns does a good job of creating the sense of their existence.

We stopped by Hey, Lucy’s, one of our favorite restaurants. After a quick lunch, we walked over to the Princess of Wales theater for a screening of Blackbird. A poignant movie about important issues with an all-star cast.
