The Sky is Pink
Day 10 2019 TIFF started at the Elgin theater with a screening of The Sky is Pink. The is a beautifully made movie. Based on a true story, it is a tearjerker from beginning to end. But it is also sweet, funny and incredibly poignant. The family dynamics and community support are incredible. The parents were in the audience and spoke after the movie.

A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood
After one last trip to Pusateri’s, we were back at the Elgin for the much anticipated A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood. No complaints about this movie, it does the job as expected. I think I enjoyed the documentary Won’t You Be My Neighbor more.

We met Karl and Tony at Cibo’s, another restaurant that is in our annual rotation. After a great dinner we were off to the ScotiaBank theater for American Woman. A fictionalized account of Patty Hearst, while she was in hiding. The movie was well done, just not quite sure why it was done.

Our final movie of the evening was an extra screening of Knives Out at the Princess of Wales theater. This is a campy Agatha Christie type movie with an all-star cast. The twisting story line and snappy dialogue make this one a winner.
