If you followed the BBC series, you will not be disappointed with the movie. Downton Abbey is everything you could want, just on a much bigger screen. Almost all the cast returned, with a couple of new additions, complete with their witty barbs and familial affection. The costumes and set decorations take you right back to the 1930’s. One of the things I really liked about the series was that their little predicaments didn’t linger on too long, the movie moves at the same pace. Sneak in a hot cup of English Breakfast and a scone to make your experience complete.
I think our Mini Victoria Sponge Cupcakes (made with Mrs. Patmore’s raspberry jam!) would be a perfect addition to your High Tea with the Queen.
