Thanksgiving weekend is a popular time to see a movie in the theater. We thought we would remind you of some movies that we don’t want to fall through the cracks.
Motherless Brooklyn is a movie that suffers from distribution challenges. It is only showing at one theater (the Magnolia on McKinney) in the Dallas area, while The Joker is showing at over 15 theaters in the DFW metroplex. You will feel much better after seeing Edward Norton’s 20 year passion project.
A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood is a can’t miss film with Tom Hanks playing Fred Rogers. Occasionally, you can feel Hanks acting but overall the film is a heartwarming family film. Stream the documentary, Won’t You Be My Neighbor? It really gives you a good sense of how genuine and caring Mr. Rogers really was.
Knives Out is an Agatha Christie type of movie with an excellent cast. It keeps you guessing for most of the movie.
Ford vs Ferrari is how I am going to spend my post-Thanksgiving evening. My dad loves racing so this will be perfect. The eye candy doesn’t hurt either.
If you want to start your holidays with a Christmas movie, don’t forget about Last Christmas. It’s a sweet bit of fluff that was released too soon, so not getting the holiday hype it deserves.
Remember Awards season begins with the announcement of the 2020 Golden Globes nominations on December 9, 2019.
Enjoy your holidays!
